Private Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

If you prefer a personalized and in-depth breastfeeding class in the comfort of your own home, then you will love our prenatal breastfeeding classes. Breastfeeding classes generally last one and a half to two hours and include information on why breastfeeding is important for both mother and baby, including nutritional, immunological and psychological reasons. You will learn how milk supply is established so that you can be prepared to maximize your milk supply from the beginning. Learn the basics of positioning and latching a newborn baby, how to recognize and address problems that may arise, comparison of breastpumps and how to decide whether or not you even need a pump, when and how to introduce a bottle if desired and most importantly, how to nurture and not just feed your baby through breastfeeding. We will also discuss specific ways in which family members can support mother and baby with breastfeeding.

Virtual - $100
In-office - $165
In-home - $195 plus travel fee

Virtual, in-office or in-home consultations may be scheduled for special situations such as preparing to breastfeed an adopted child, back-to-work consultations, prenatal consultations for mothers who experienced difficulty breastfeeding a previous child, etc. at the above rates

Payment information:
  • We will send an invoice for pre-payment after your appointment is confirmed that can be paid via credit, debit or HSA card. If you need to pay via PayPal, Venmo, cash or check, please let us know at the time you schedule your appointment.
  • We are not in-network providers with any insurance company but we are happy to provide you with a superbill that you can use to try to file for reimbursement. Because insurance company rules and policies change frequently, we cannot guarantee reimbursement. The Affordable Care Act mandates lactation coverage, however, individual insurance companies may have different policies for fulfilling that mandate. The National Women's Law Center has more information on the Affordable Care Act and also has a toolkit available to help you with filing for insurance coverage. It can be accessed at http://www.nwlc.org/tags/breastfeeding.
