Private Consultation - $145* in your home, or $115 in office

A consultation usually lasts 1.5-2 hours and includes a complete history, assessment of latch and breast health as needed, hands on assistance to achieve a more comfortable latch, weight check with digital baby scale, a personalized care plan for addressing any issues, report to both mom and baby’s health care providers if desired and plenty of time for questions.  Follow-up assistance by phone, text, or email is included until the initial issues are resolved. We strive to provide caring and compassionate support as we help you meet your breastfeeding goals. Office consultations are available in North Richland hills or S. Arlington. In home consultations are only avaiable within a 30 mile radius (of Hurst for Mellanie or S. Arlington for Deirdre and Kara). There is an additional travel fee for home visits beyond 15 miles. See bottom of page for details.

Follow-Up Consultation - $115* in your home, or $95 in office

Many breastfeeding issues can be resolved with just one visit.  However, if your baby is premature, the issues are complex or if you just prefer more hands-on follow-up care, an additional consultation can be scheduled.  Follow-up consultations generally last 1-1.5 hours and include re-assessing the situation, weight check, adjusting the care plan as needed and answering additional questions.

Latch Clinic - $65 per mom, in office ($35 for moms/babies on WIC or Medicaid - please ask for discount when reserving your spot)

In order to make consultations affordable for more moms, For Babies' Sake is now offering Latch Clinics. For Babies' Sake Latch Clinics offer professional breastfeeding support in a small group setting (4 moms maximum per 1 hour 15 minute time slot). This setting is ideal for troubleshooting basic latch issues, evaluating for tongue/lip tie, question and answer sessions, weight checks, follow-up after private consultations, etc. Group consultations are a great low-cost option for addressing breastfeeding issues. The small group setting offers the added benefit of support from other moms who are also dealing with breastfeeding issues. If we find that your situation requires more intensive one-on-one help, or you are dealing with multiple issues, then a private consultation may better suit your needs. Latch Clinics are offered once a month, usually on Saturday afternoons. Check our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/forbabiessake/events) for dates. Please call or text 657-BF-HELP-1 or email info.forbabiessake@gmail.com to reserve your time slot.

Private Prenatal Breastfeeding Class - $150*

If you prefer a personalized and in-depth breastfeeding class in the comfort of your own home, then you will love our prenatal breastfeeding classes.  Breastfeeding classes generally last 3 hours and include information on why breastfeeding is important for both mother and baby, including nutritional, immunological and psychological reasons.   You will learn how milk supply is established so that you can be prepared to maximize your milk supply from the beginning.  Learn the basics of positioning and latching a newborn baby, how to recognize and address problems that may arise, how to select and fit a good nursing bra, comparison of breastpumps and how to decide whether or not you even need a pump, how to prepare for returning to work, when and how to introduce a bottle if desired and most importantly, how to nurture and not just feed your baby through breastfeeding.  We highly encourage moms to invite any family members who will be providing support after baby arrives to attend this class with her.  Statistics show that mothers are much more likely to have a successful breastfeeding experience when the father of the baby and other family members are supportive.  We will discuss specific ways in which family members can support mother and baby with breastfeeding.

Special Situations

In-home consultations may be scheduled for special situations such as preparing to breastfeed an adopted child, back-to-work consultations, prenatal consultations for mothers who experienced difficulty breastfeeding a previous child, etc. Call to discuss rates.

*Travel fees reflect both increased gas cost and increased time required for travel.

15-20 miles - $20
20-25 miles - $25
25-30 miles - $30

We accept cash, check or credit card payments, including HSA cards, at the time of service. We are not in-network providers with any insurance company but we are happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can use to try to file for reimbursement. Because insurance company rules and policies change frequently, we cannot guarantee reimbursement. The Affordable Care Act mandates lactation coverage, however, individual insurance companies may have different policies for fulfilling that mandate. The National Women's Law Center has current information on the Affordable Care Act and also has a toolkit available to help you with filing for insurance coverage. It can be accessed at http://www.nwlc.org/tags/breastfeeding.

We may be able to offer a discount for WIC or Medicaid recipients, or a payment plan if needed.
