Follow-Up Consultation - $145 plus mileage* in your home, or $115 in office
Medicaid rate - $115 plus mileage* in your home, or $75 in office

Many of the breastfeeding issues we see are more complex and often require more than one visit. Some examples of these situations may be a premature baby, inducing lactation, after frenotomy (tongue and lip tie revision) care and rehabilitation, low supply issues, etc. Follow-up consultations generally last 1-1.5 hours and include re-assessing the situation, weight check, adjusting the care plan as needed and answering additional questions.

Latch Clinic - $65 per mom, in office ($35 for moms/babies on WIC or Medicaid - please ask for discount when reserving your spot)

For Babies' Sake's latch clinic offers professional breastfeeding support in a small group setting. Each mom has a 30 minute time slot, there will be multiple moms and two lactation Consultants. This setting is ideal for troubleshooting basic latch issues, evaluating for tongue/lip tie, question and answer sessions, weight checks, follow-up after private consultations, etc. This setting is not ideal for initial consultations, or when more than one problem is needing to be addressed. Latch clinic is not as comprehensive as a private consultation, and in-depth assessments cannot be done in this setting. Due to this, there may be issues that you are having that cannot be addressed. If we find that your situation requires more intensive one-on-one help, or you are dealing with multiple issues, then a private consultation may better suit your needs. Latch Clinics are offered once a month, usually on Saturday afternoons. Check our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/forbabiessake/events) for dates. Please call or text 657-BF-HELP-1 or email info.forbabiessake@gmail.com to reserve your time slot.

Private Prenatal Breastfeeding Class - $175 plus mileage* in your home, or $145 in office
Medicaid rate - $145 plus mileage* in your home, or $75 in office

If you prefer a personalized and in-depth breastfeeding class in the comfort of your own home, then you will love our prenatal breastfeeding classes. Breastfeeding classes generally last one and a half to two hours and include information on why breastfeeding is important for both mother and baby, including nutritional, immunological and psychological reasons. You will learn how milk supply is established so that you can be prepared to maximize your milk supply from the beginning. Learn the basics of positioning and latching a newborn baby, how to recognize and address problems that may arise, how to select and fit a good nursing bra, comparison of breastpumps and how to decide whether or not you even need a pump, how to prepare for returning to work, when and how to introduce a bottle if desired and most importantly, how to nurture and not just feed your baby through breastfeeding. We highly encourage moms to invite any family members who will be providing support after baby arrives to attend this class with her. Statistics show that mothers are much more likely to have a successful breastfeeding experience when the father of the baby and other family members are supportive. We will discuss specific ways in which family members can support mother and baby with breastfeeding.

Special Situations

In-home consultations may be scheduled for special situations such as preparing to breastfeed an adopted child, back-to-work consultations, prenatal consultations for mothers who experienced difficulty breastfeeding a previous child, etc. Call to discuss rates.

*Travel fees reflect both increased gas cost and increased time required for travel.

15-20 miles - $20
20-25 miles - $25
25-30 miles - $30

We accept cash, check or credit card payments, including HSA cards, at the time of service. We are not in-network providers with any insurance company but we are happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can use to try to file for reimbursement. Because insurance company rules and policies change frequently, we cannot guarantee reimbursement. The Affordable Care Act mandates lactation coverage, however, individual insurance companies may have different policies for fulfilling that mandate. The National Women's Law Center has current information on the Affordable Care Act and also has a toolkit available to help you with filing for insurance coverage. It can be accessed at http://www.nwlc.org/tags/breastfeeding.

We may be able to offer a discount for WIC or Medicaid recipients, or a payment plan if needed.
